ServerBuddy Testing – We’re Okay!

Today I have had three emails regarding results in the new ServerBuddy plugin by iThemes. Two result listings in ServerBuddy said FAIL, while these results were nothing life threatening security wise, the settings were our very own customized settings in action. The very same settings we have been using for well over a year now while still providing stable and safe WordPress hosting for our customers.

To make things look a bit better I have made a couple small changes to get the OK status for the two results that failed. ServerBuddy was also not recognizing the latest version of PHP properly either, that was also fixed.

So one question remains… If ServerBuddy displays a fail result is that a bad thing and does that mean the hosting company is no good for WordPress? Well in my opinion it really depends on which result is being shown as a negative result. If the FAIL result is impacting the way WordPress works on a day to day basis then it is not a good host for WordPress. As for the two changes I made settings wise to get the OK status for two ServerBuddy results, if I never made the changes WordPress would still continue to run secure, stable and smooth for our customers as it has for the past year.
