Installing WordPress is now quick and painless thanks to Fantastico.
First you will need to login to your Cpanel account (We will send you the login information when signing up for one of our hosting plans). Once in cPanel, look for the Fantastico De Luxe icon under Software / Services:
When in the Blogs section of Fantastico you will now need to click on WordPress.
You will now see a description of WordPress, what it does and of any installations that you might have. Click on the New Installation link.
You will now come to a configuration page.
- Install on domain: Install on your domain of choice.
- Install in Directory: Leave this blank if you require WordPress to be installed in the root of the domain. For example http://www.yoursite.com/. If you want to specify a different directory, type it into this field. For example if you type in “blog”, the url will then be http://www.yoursite.com/blog/.
Now choose the admin. username and password which you will use to access and administer your WordPress installation.
In the base configuration section, enter the following information:
- Admin nickname: The nickname chosen to display for the admin account.
- Admin e-mail: The email address of the administrator account.
- Site name: What you want to name your blog.
- Description: What your site is about.
Now click on the Install WordPress button!
The installation will tell you what updates have been made. Click the Finish Installation button.
The installation is now finished. You will have the option to email the details of the installation to yourself or return to the overview.
Once you return to the WordPress Overview page, you will see that you have WordPress listed in the “Current Installations” section. Click the Visit Site button to view your new site.
